I recently had the opportunity to take the engagement photos for these awesome friends of ours, TJ and Erin. Scott and I went to high school with TJ and his siblings and let’s just say, what a transformation. Such an amazing testimony for Christ! He’s also the friendly competition (He has a farm nearby). And Erin. She’s a childhood friend of our Sister-in-Law Kathleen. She’s hilarious. Encouraging. And so talented! We are so glad she decided to move out to Montana all the way from Michigan and be a part of our little group of friends. The northwest was a little less exciting until she showed up.
We started out at the bottom of the Marias Valley near the river. It was still a little too bright out at that point so the shadows were harsh and eyes were squinty. But as we moved back up to TJ’s property to get some shots near the Tractors, the light was perfect and I was loving my new Yongnuo 35mm prime lens! The biggest difference I’ve noticed between the kit lens and the prime lens is how much light the prime lens lets in! I was worried about there not being enough light as the sun went down but the photos just got better and better!
I definitely wanted to use this session to tell their engagement story in pictures, especially since the spot where TJ proposed to Erin is so nice. Right at the top of a bluff on his property that overlooks the Marias River Valley. This session was so fun to go through! We are so looking forward to the wedding celebrations coming up and having Erin back in Montana!
